With 30+ years of casting experience in the Boston area, Angela Peri, C.S.A., is the owner and founder of BOSTON CASTING, INC. Known as the hardest working woman in show business, Angela is a member of the Casting Society of America and an original member of the Massachusetts Production Coalition. Angela founded Boston Casting in 1991, and has cast thousands of national, regional and local productions from feature films to commercials, industrials and reality television.

Brittany Shapiro

Brittany has been teaching acting classes to kids, teens and young adults for more than 15 years in Boston, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Given her experience in casting, her expertise lies in audition technique and some of her students can be seen on Disney Channel, Disney XD, Nickelodeon, NBC, ABC, Discovery Channel, as well as local/national commercials, print ads and even on Broadway!

Brittany relocated to Boston in 2012 after spending time in Los Angeles, casting both feature films and television. She began as a casting assistant for casting director Joseph Middleton and worked closely with casting directors Brandi Brice and Dana Gergely on Disney Channel’s hit television series A.N.T. FARM, and the Disney XD pilot SHMAGREGGIE SAVES THE WORLD! Since joining Boston Casting in 2012, Brittany routinely runs casting sessions for television/film, commercials and print ads.

Prior to living in Los Angeles, Brittany was the Director of Education for an acting school in Washington, D.C. for over four years. Brittany has a Bachelors Degree in Drama from Syracuse University’s School of Visual and Performing Arts, she holds a Massachusetts Provisional Teaching License in Theater (all levels K-12) and currently serves as the Director of the School of Screen Acting at Boston Casting.

Melissa Morris, C.S.A.

Casting Associate

Melissa, a Long Island native, graduated from Fitchburg State University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, focusing on Film/Video & Theater, and minored in History. Her career began in 2016 with a summer internship at Boston Casting, where she quickly realized that the casting industry was where she wanted to be.

Melissa returned as office manager and commercial Casting Assistant during the summer of 2017 working with clients like BAUER & DUNKIN DONUTS and then moved on to extras casting for a series of Katie Fforde films. She is now a casting associate whose feature film and TV series credits include SPENSER CONFIDENTIAL, KNIVES OUT, DEFENDING JACOB, CODA & DEXTER: NEW BLOOD.

Ariana George

Ariana attended Emerson College where she recently graduated with her BFA in Musical Theatre with a Concentration in Voice-Acting. Having grown up in Los Angeles, she was often immersed in the film and television world. She helps build up Boston Casting’s school program while assisting in casting on multiple productions.

Owen Guinessy

Owen attended Northeastern University and graduated with a degree in Media and Screen Studies. He interned at Boston Casting in the Winter of 2020 and came back to work full time starting in the Spring of 2021. He now works as a casting assistant in the extras department.

Cam Hallinan

Cam Hallinan attended Emerson College where he received a B.A. Degree in Media Arts Production and an M.F.A. Degree in Writing for Film and Television. He is a Massachusetts native and has been an avid movie buff from an early age. He interned at Boston Casting in the fall of 2017 and currently works for the company as an extras casting assistant.

Caroline Clancy

Caroline Clancy has been working on and off set in the Boston film industry for years, joining Boston Casting in 2021. The best part of Caroline's job is seeing her favorite city represented on the big screen. When she is not in the Boston Casting office, you can find Caroline binging documentaries or taking in local performances around the city.

Lisa Lobel, C.S.A.

With over 20 years of casting experience, she is the co-owner of Boston Casting and one of the founders of the School of Screen Acting division of Boston Casting (an acting school at Boston Casting).

Lisa was nominated for an Artios Award by the Casting Society of America for best local casting on SOUND OF METAL, a film that features an almost entirely deaf cast (and was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture!) Lisa was the local casting director on the Netflix thriller I CARE A LOT and is eager to see her work on the big screen this August with FREE GUY, starring Ryan Reynolds.

Some of her past notable casting work includes the critically acclaimed independent film, DONALD CRIED, STRONGER, the Jeff Bauman story and the hit Netflix series, THE SOCIETY.

She enjoys speaking to students around the country about careers in acting & casting and loves skiing and traveling with her husband, Eran and her three young-adult kids.

With Boston Casting since 2007, Hilary specializes in casting commercials, web videos, independent films and kids casting. Together with Angela Peri, CSA, Hilary has worked on such films as KNIGHT AND DAY starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, THE FIGHTER starring Mark Wahlberg, THE PROPOSAL with Sandra Bullock, PINK PATHER 2 with Steve Martin, and WHAT DOESN’T KILL YOU with Mark Ruffalo and Ethan Hawke. Her television credits include casting for LOUIE on FX and the pilot WAR OF ’04 as well as commercials and web videos for Zip Car, Mass.

Lottery, Fidelity, Meineke, VISA, American Express, and Liberty Mutual. Prior to joining Boston Casting, Hilary ran her own casting office in New York, specializing in theater casting. She began her career as the resident casting director for The Philadelphia Festival Theater for New Plays based at the University of Pennsylvania. While there, she singlehandedly cast over 40 world premiere productions of new plays, by such well known playwrights as David Mamet, David Ives, Lee Blessing, Jules Feiffer. Hilary is a graduate of Oberlin College.

Cheryl Hawe

Cheryl has been with Boston Casting since 2017. Previously worked for 7 years as a background casting director for a Los Angeles casting company. A Boston native, she graduated from the University of Massachusetts and double majored in Theatre Arts and Political Science.

Upon graduating, she ignored her majors and promptly took a job in the finance world! When her four children took an interest in theatre and acting, she came back to the theatre world and eventually moved into casting. Since joining Boston Casting, she has done the background for films THE MAN WHO KILLED HITLER AND THEN THE BIGFOOT and THE UNHOLY and Television series NOS4A2, KEVIN CAN F*** HIMSELF, and JULIA.

Mikayla Cramer

Mikayla attended The Boston Conservatory at Berklee where she studied Musical Theatre and went on to graduate from Penn State with a Degree in Acting. She interned with the Cannes Film Festival in France then joined Boston Casting, Inc. in 2018. Along with Casting, Mikayla also teaches acting. Mikayla is based in Boston, MA.

Brett Duffy

Brett began her career at Boston Casting in 2016 as an intern while working towards her degree at Curry College (where she received a bachelor’s degree in Communications with a focus in Theatre and Television, and a minor in English). After graduation, Brett moved to Los Angeles where she worked on several films, television shows, and commercials.

Since moving back to Boston, she has once again joined the Boston Casting Team. She recently worked as a casting assistant on I CARE A LOT and I WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY and has been the extras casting director on over 10+ films & television series such as DEXTER: NEW BLOOD, GODMOTHERED, RAY DONOVAN FINAL, HIGHTOWN, and FATHERHOOD. She has also worked as a casting associate on numerous commercials.

Regan Lynch

Regan attended Syracuse University where she recently graduated from the Honors College with a degree in Television, Radio and Film. Regan gained experience in a variety of different roles across the entertainment industry while working towards her degree. She was a member of the Reader's Team at American High throughout her four years at Syracuse University. She was able to study in Los Angeles (a lifelong dream) while working as a Development Intern at Parkes + MacDonald. She also worked as a casting intern... at Boston Casting!

Regan is excited to be back at Boston Casting, now as a Commercials Casting Assistant. She is grateful to work with clients like DUNKIN' DONUTS, L.L. BEAN, and STOP & SHOP, amongst many others. When she's not working, you'll find Regan at a local coffee shop, on her porch reading in the sun, or in her favorite armchair watching her newest television obsession.

Gracie Kennedy

Gracie started with Boston Casting in March of 2020 after moving back home from NYC. There, she did internships with industry leading offices like Telsey & Co, Calleri Casting and the Carson Kolker Org. Upon graduating from Pace University for Acting and Devised Theatre, she worked for a manager with clients on Broadway and major networks such as the CW.

Since moving back home to the Cape and now Boston, Gracie has assisted on 4 projects with BC including JULIA and THE TENDER BAR. She loves booking the vintage cars for period pieces and meeting new actors. While not in the office you can find Gracie petting dogs on the street or having a cocktail in the North End.

Lisa Lobel, C.S.A.

Lisa began her casting career in 1995. She is the co-owner of Boston Casting and one of the founders of the School of Screen Acting division of Boston Casting.

In 2021, Lisa was nominated for an Artios Award by the Casting Society of America for best local casting and a Semiramis Award for Excellence in Casting worldwide on SOUND OF METAL, a film that features an almost entirely deaf cast (and was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture!).  Lisa was the local casting director on the Netflix thriller I CARE A LOT, feature film FREE GUY, with Ryan Reynolds, and is eagerly awaiting seeing her work on the big screen in Alexander Payne’s latest film THE HOLDOVERS as well as Newline’s 2022 version of Steven King’s SALEM’S LOT.

Some of her most recent TV casting work includes HBO’s JULIA, Showtime’s DEXTER: NEW BLOOD, and the hit Netflix series THE SOCIETY.

As a former educator, Lisa enjoys speaking to students around the country about careers in acting & casting and loves to ski and travel with her husband and three young-adult kids.

Brittany Shapiro

Brittany has been teaching acting classes to kids, teens and young adults for more than 15 years in Boston, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Given her experience in casting, her expertise lies in audition technique and some of her students can be seen on Disney Channel, Disney XD, Nickelodeon, NBC, ABC, Discovery Channel, as well as local/national commercials, print ads and even on Broadway!

Brittany relocated to Boston in 2012 after spending time in Los Angeles casting both feature films and television. She began as a casting assistant for casting director Joseph Middleton and worked closely with casting directors Brandi Brice and Dana Gergely on Disney Channel’s hit television series A.N.T. FARM and the Disney XD pilot SHMAGREGGIE SAVES THE WORLD ! Since joining Boston Casting in 2012, Brittany routinely runs casting sessions for television/film, commercials, and print ads.

Brittany has a Bachelor’s Degree in Drama from Syracuse University’s School of Visual and Performing Arts, she holds a Massachusetts Provisional Teaching License in Theater (all levels K-12), and currently serves as the Director of the School of Screen Acting at Boston Casting.

Brittany enjoys spending time with family and friends, and can often be found on the lacrosse and soccer fields cheering for her two young daughters.

Hilary Missan
Casting Director

With Boston Casting since 2007, Hilary specializes in casting commercials, web videos, independent films and kids casting. Her television credits include casting for LOUIE on FX and the pilot WAR OF ’04 as well as commercials and web videos for Zip Car, Mass.

Lottery, Fidelity, Meineke, VISA, American Express, and Liberty Mutual. Prior to joining Boston Casting, Hilary ran her own casting office in New York, specializing in theater casting. She began her career as the resident casting director for The Philadelphia Festival Theater for New Plays based at the University of Pennsylvania. While there, she singlehandedly cast over 40 world premiere productions of new plays, by such well known playwrights as David Mamet, David Ives, Lee Blessing, Jules Feiffer. Hilary is a graduate of Oberlin College.

Melissa Morris, C.S.A.
Casting Associate

Melissa grew up on Long Island and moved to Massachusetts after graduating from Fitchburg State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, focusing on Film/Video & Theater. Her casting career began the summer of 2016 with an internship at Boston Casting where she realized the casting industry was where she wanted to work.

Melissa returned as Office Manager and Commercial Casting Assistant in 2017 and has since cast for films and television series, earning her a C.S.A. Associate title. Some of her notable credits include DEFENDING JACOB, CODA, DEXTER: NEW BLOOD, and JULIA.

If you’re looking for Melissa, you can find her at a local distillery with her dog or grooving to house and techno at a music festival.

Cheryl Hawe
Extras Casting Director

Cheryl has been with Boston Casting since 2017. She also previously worked for 7 years as a background casting director for a Los Angeles casting company. A Boston native, Cheryl graduated from the University of Massachusetts and double majored in Theatre Arts and Political Science.

Upon graduating, she ignored her majors and promptly took a job in the finance world! When her four children took an interest in theatre and acting, she came back to the theatre world and eventually moved into casting. Since joining Boston Casting, she has done the background for films THE MAN WHO KILLED HITLER AND THEN THE BIGFOOT and THE UNHOLY and Television series NOS4A2, KEVIN CAN F*** HIMSELF, and JULIA.

Brett Duffy

Brett began her career at Boston Casting in 2016 as an intern while working towards her degree at Curry College (where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a focus in Theatre and Television and a minor in English). After graduation, Brett moved to Los Angeles where she worked on several films, television shows, and commercials.

Since moving back to Boston, she has once again joined the Boston Casting team. She has recently worked as the principal casting associate on the action film AFTERMATH and was the principal casting assistant on I CARE A LOT and I WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY. She has been the extras casting director on over 10+ films & television series such as DEXTER: NEW BLOOD, THE PARENTING, SALEM’S LOT, GODMOTHERED, and THE EXPECTING.

Brett is a die hard Swiftie (as everyone should be) and a horror movie buff. You can probably find her at any trivia night in the city, but if she’s not there she’s most likely at home watching a Wes Craven film for the 100th time.

Mikayla Cramer

Mikayla attended The Boston Conservatory at Berklee where she studied Musical Theatre and went on to graduate from Penn State with a Degree in Acting. She interned with the Cannes Film Festival in France then joined Boston Casting in 2018. 

She has recently worked as the principal casting associate on Season 2 of Kevin Can F*** Himself and The Parenting. She has been the extras casting director on films such as I CARE A LOT, THE TENDER BAR, GODMOTHERED, and SPIRITED. Mikayla has worked on many commercials as well with clients such as DUNKIN DONUTS and LL BEAN. 

Along with casting, Mikayla loves teaching and working with kid actors. As a fellow actor herself, she loves working in the studio aiding the next generation of actors. 

When not on the clock, you can find Mikayla scrolling aimlessly through TikTok (yes, she does think it is a great creative outlet), drinking a spicy marg (cas amigos, of course), or going to live theatre performances. 

Owen Guinessy

Owen attended Northeastern University and graduated with a degree in Media and Screen Studies. He interned at Boston Casting in 2020 and came back to work in the extras department starting in 2021. He now works as an extras casting associate. His recent credits include Aftermath, The Holdovers and Spirited.

Ariana George
School Assistant

Ariana attended Emerson College where she graduated in 2021 with her BFA in Musical Theatre with a Concentration in Voice-Acting. Having grown up in Los Angeles, she was often immersed in the film and television world. She helps build up Boston Casting’s school program while assisting in casting on multiple productions.

When she’s not on the clock, you might spot her frolicking in the streets of Disneyland, lounging in the sun with her favorite music playing, or cuddling up with her cat while catching up on her favorite animated TV series.

Gracie Kennedy
Extras Casting Director

Gracie started with Boston Casting in March of 2020 after moving back home from NYC. There, she did internships with industry leading offices like Telsey & Co, Calleri Casting, and the Carson Kolker Organization. Upon graduating from Pace University for Acting and Devised Theatre, she worked for a manager with clients on Broadway and major networks such as the CW.

Since moving back home to the Cape and now Boston, Gracie has assisted on 4 projects with BC, including JULIA and THE TENDER BAR. She loves booking the vintage cars for period pieces and meeting new actors. When not in the office, you can find Gracie petting dogs on the street or having a cocktail in the North End.
